Hi, my name is Tami and I have been teaching for 20 years, the last 16 of which have been spent in gifted and talented education.  

My first experience with a document camera came just about a year ago, when I borrowed one from our intermediate school to see what they did.  Our school had a very basic camera many years ago that I don't think anyone used, and I always said I didn't see the purpose, it was just a "glorified overhead projector."  Well, after a week with an AverMedia document camera, I was hooked.  I don't know how I ever taught without one!  So, I begged my supervisor for one, and she ordered me one... and two weeks later I won the same doc cam from AverMedia, so I now have one to use and one to share... :-)

This year I added the AverPens to my classroom, and while we didn't use them much this past year, I am spending part of the summer creating lessons for use with the AverPens and can't wait to get started using them in my class.

This is my first blog experience, so I'm excited about sharing ideas and lessons in this format.
